Towing Company input evidence register

43 financial inputs with their assumptions, calculation bases and cited sources.

Read the supported claim, observation period, geography and units together. A source access date records when it was consulted. A model assumption identifies a selected amount or target; a calculated result follows from those inputs and does not establish observed demand or a quoted opening budget.

Case updated October 4, 2026. These notes accompany the complete case methodology and source register.

These notes explain the opening budget, annual forecast and calculator assumptions. Linked sources provide the support described in each note; they do not necessarily confirm the selected amounts. Check scenario assumptions against local quotes and operating records.

  • Model assumption

Applies to: Total opening budget · Lower opening budget · Upper opening budget · Two staged used light-duty rollback trucks · Securement, recovery, traffic-control and safety equipment · Yard, office and communications setup · Licenses, training, insurance and operating deposits · Dispatch software, website, marketing and administration · Working-capital and truck-downtime reserve

Authored staged two-truck opening allocation. Official startup, licensing and registration sources establish categories and requirements but do not verify used truck prices, insurance, yard, equipment or reserve.

  • Model assumption

    Applies to: Revenue (Years 1–5)

Authored completed-call path. Year three is 5 calls × $350 × 6 days × 50 weeks. Official industry data establish context but not local call volume, mix, rate or collection.

  • Model assumption

Applies to: Route fuel, tolls, card fees and call-linked service costs (Years 1–5)

Authored 30% pool for route fuel, tolls, merchant fees and call-linked cost. Replace it with truck, route, vendor, claim and payment records.

  • Model assumption

Applies to: Paid owner-operator, tow operator and employer costs (Years 1–5)

Authored paid owner-operator and employee-operator schedule with employer-cost allowance. National occupational pay and federal payroll-tax guidance are context only. An illustrative mature roster allocates $75,000 to paid owner/dispatch/operator work and $65,000 to the employee operator, plus a selected $40,000 employer-cost and relief allowance, totaling $180,000. Two 40-hour schedules over 50 weeks provide 4,000 paid hours before dispatch, maintenance, administration and leave; local overtime, insurance, benefits and relief need quotes.

  • Model assumption

Applies to: Trucks, insurance, yard, repairs, dispatch, marketing and overhead (Years 1–5)

Authored truck, insurance, yard, repair, dispatch, marketing and administration schedule. It is not a local quote or dated cash forecast.

  • Model assumption

Applies to: Retained sale per completed towing or roadside call (base scenario) · Retained sale per completed towing or roadside call (lower sensitivity) · Retained sale per completed towing or roadside call (upper sensitivity) · Route-wide completed calls per dispatch day (base scenario) · Route-wide completed calls per dispatch day (lower sensitivity) · Route-wide completed calls per dispatch day (upper sensitivity) · Trading days per week (base scenario) · Trading days per week (lower sensitivity) · Trading days per week (upper sensitivity) · Monthly fixed operating costs · Contribution margin · Opening sales as a share of mature volume · Monthly increase toward mature volume · Forecast horizon (months)

Authored completed-call break-even bridge. The $350 retained sale, five calls, 70% contribution, fixed cost and ramp must reconcile to dispatch, truck hours, miles, claims and collection. The 50-week annual calendar has 300 dispatch days and needs about 4.08 daily calls at mature costs, while the 4.33-week monthly tool shows about 3.93. At an illustrative two all-in operator-hours per call, 1,500 annual calls use 3,000 hours; longer scenes or the six-to-eight-call sensitivity need additional paid cover. No source verifies the assumed duration or throughput.
